@Taskerland I suppose for a lot of people VtM was the first experience of "not-dungeon" and about networks and masterminds, whereas for me a decade earlier that was superhero RPGs, hence why I am still fond of them.

And their airy trend towards lack of ceilings.

@Taskerland One of the interesting aspects of "maps made of people" is just how much academic research was done (particularly in the 1960s) into sociograms, and mapping models of interactions, and I wonder how many of those would actually be useful for notation and dynamics in games now. I think we're very quick to look to computers to create solutions that might simply be nicer on a piece of paper.

@Taskerland They used to do sociogrammatic analysis of crime before computers could model that much more effectively - I've always thought on paper it was a good style for seeing interactions between subgroups and motivations.

Also probably a bit of an ask from most modern RPG writers.

@Printdevil I can't parse those social maps easily. I'd probably find them easier if the social map were an overlay onto the space: big Ventrue in the centre, childer round the office spaces, and so on.

It limits kindred beef to physical proximity but that'd make sense.

Or to be more feudal, all land belongs to the prince, three childer lease thirds of the city, and so on, with sub-tennants all the way down.

Isn't that because you can only walk sideways though?

Methuselahs are Crabs is a very early nineties guitar led band name.
