@catsalad My nephew was grabbed by the neck and dragged away by a mountain lion. He lived. This is not a joke, but an anecdote. They don't normally attack humans (even small humans) unless cornered, however it was during a particularly bad drought in California so prey animals had become scarce. The authorities sadly had to find and euthanize the animal and it was very scrawny, it probably hadn't eaten in weeks. Poor kitty, and poor small human.
