All Caster Party vs Barbarian BBEG
-
With the right eldrich blast build who needs spell slots.

Booming blade can get nasty too, but requires a lot more work for spacing/movement.
-
Depends on what the casters have. Stand at the edge of a tall cliff or other height. Contingent action cast Dimension Door. Barb takes the fall, you appear where he was standing last round.

Warlock 2/ Sorcerer X needs spellslots to fuel quicken spell metamagic (for more eldritch blast)
-
That sounds like a really fun combat for a level 11 or less party!
… is the joke Irressitable dance? Is it somehow unthinkable to you that a powerful barbarian might have found some way around charm spells/other single targetsave or sucks? What if they just happen to be a Berserker?
-
“And what you have are hit points, and the hope that before your hit points are empty, our spells slots have run out”
-
*glances at a page full of debufs and a Rube Goldberg machine ending in the game equivalent of a a pokeball or Geas spell*
right, well I guess I don’t want you to not be standing

You can certanly balance the combat, don’t get me worng, but I think that a party from level 11 onwards can outmanouver a Berserker in ways he es not able to keep up. Most of the casters should fly by that point and its been a while but I think by level 11 casters already have access to some way to have the action economy on their side, like Animate object or summon animals (is that the druid’s one?). In the minwhile the other party members can spam save or suck spells as you said! O guess the real breakpoint is level 13 when they have access to forcecage.
I really wish martial characters had some superhuman “spells” like your clasic super hero shockwave or those big jumps… I know monks can jump really far, but I wish most characters could!

A D&D Barbarian with a Diablo 2 style ridiculous-ranged Leap Attack would be absolutely terrifying.

What do spell slots let you do, funny masked man?
-
At levels above 17 the Barbarian can rage for a full hour straight, which is 600 rounds. That rage is out lasting the spell slots
-
Well technically the barbarian can only rage for a limited time without having to rest too (although he’s a lot more dangerous without rage than a caster without spells is). Would a rogue have no limited resource other than hitpoints?
Rogue assassin archer can run away while shooting you. Being able to dash as a bonus action means they’ll outrun you most of the time. Add in the sharpshooter feat, and they can ignore 1/2 and 3/4 cover. Any time they can get sneak attack means they can just do stupid amounts of damage.

As they should, would love to narrate that scene!

Imagine playing a wizard that cares about hit points.

Idk, did he ever learn to read?

Coffeelock was ridiculous shenanigans.

Hey. One hour combat? Have you played D&D?

Depends on the subclass I guess, my arcane trickster can stab kidneys forever but can’t misty step out of danger all day, cunning action dash can get you out of most spots though.
