This is yesterday’s dinner today. Except you know how taco bell offers a grilled burrito option?

I didn’t include a cost per person yesterday. My bad. $2.60.

That’s less than most of the Taco Bell burritos. Except that this is larger than any burrito that Taco Bell has ever offered. But have you tried their new $3 grilled steak burritos? They are the best thing since the $1 Spicy Tostada (RIP). I don’t know how they are offering them at that price. I expect one of them to do the “was $89¢ but is now $4 beefy cheese burrito” thing on one of them.

That looks delicious. What sort of sauce is over the top?

That’s dangerously close to chimichanga territory.

I do not have the money to deep fry something with that much thermal mass. Either in hardware or cooking oil. I do love a good chimichanga but on the rare occasion I make them they are considerably smaller.

Valentina pepper sauce. The sauce for when you just want a little bit of flavor and no heat.

Interesting! I can’t have spicy stuff much anymore because it upsets my rosacea (I’m very sad about it 🥲) maybe I should get some!

It is the cheapest of all the commercial Nationwide brands. So you’ve got that going for you. Which is nice

I hope my comment wasn’t taken as an insult. The chimichanga, especially when smothered in a delicious sauce, is the highest elevation of the burrito, and that’s a hill I’d die on. A grilled burrito sounds like a chimichanga and a quesadilla’s love child.

…on the rare occasion I make them they are considerably smaller.

Ah…changuitas. The Tex-Mex eggroll. Dip it in some Salsa Doña and you are in cheesy heaven.

No insult taken. I’d love to do them. Just can’t.

Once we have a few dollars it’s on the schedule to make a bulk load of black beans, corn and Colby Jack “Southwest egg rolls” and freeze them for later and air fry them. My wife loves them.

Interesting, I hadn’t even thought of that. As best I’m aware, for me it’s just the spiciness. Rosacea can be triggered by capsaicin cause it makes you flush with blood going to your skin surface, but a new thing to consider as I’m figuring out my skin issues is helpful! Thank you 😊

I do really wanna try sumac though! I just learned they have some at a Mediterranean deli/grocery place my family loves so next time I have the chance I might have to grab some!

This doesn’t have nearly the vinegar bite of Franks

ahh yeah i thought i had rosacea (that sulfur based prosacea works well on me) but mine was only triggered by solanins that’s how I worked out that mine was nightshade intolerance. Same diff if you have to avoid the spice as it’s all nightshades. The sumac has an acidic bite and it’s red so i’m pumped about it!
