Ditched Firefox for LibreWolf and I'm much happier. Firefox, despite all my efforts known to man, was forcing a download that I clicked accidentally because it nags every damned day to update.

Usually I don't.

I was planning to click there just when it popped up. Scummy behavior, then it downloaded the update to programdata.

No matter how much I deleted, uninstalled, cleaned the registry, cleaned every reference I know of, appdata, local, roaming, locallow, program files....just everywhere, it still restored the new download in programdata when I opened the browser.

Somehow even without internet and installing an old version because I don't want AI features, it still stored somewhere secretly on this machine, that it should immediately download the update. It stored it in the profiles.ini, it created the target for download in the programdata. AND it would not let me disable the updates in Settings in the browser.

Actually it would let me disable it, until I closed and reopened the browser, and it was magically re-enabled.

FUCK THAT NOISE.

if anyone needs a devops jr / software dev / production support engineer + problem management, team management skills, I need work. I have 6.5 years in that spot from the last job, and I've spent 5 years working on a commercial gamedev project which is well beyond a prototype and just needs animatiom work (I'm just a solo dev, takes a while).

I've also built a nextjs/react website and deployed it back in Feb. It's at www.ghostradiogames.org .

Anyway I have a resume if anyone wants to see that. I'm located in Las Vegas and looking for anything 75k (my last wage) to 90k, prefer 85+ since costs of everything are going up, but I'll take what I can get.

@AngelaPreston it will, they have no profits and no power to support it, but the bubble isn't bursting soon enough. The corporations who threw away their work force like trash for some dream substitute where they can get the job done for free, they need to be held accountable for the crash that's coming.

@AngelaPreston I have the game development and web stuff covering any gaps, it's just extremely difficult to find work now, even getting past the AI bots is difficult and if it rejects you, there's no person on the other end to qualify why it rejected you. I've applied for over a thousand jobs easily, I've managed two interviews in 9 months, both passed on me. And of all the people I kept in touch with from the layoff, most if not all of them are still in the exact same boat.

the Cane's interview was fine. big contrast from being on an hour and a half zoom meeting with two people. It was just about 5 minutes, between tables full of screaming children, basically told me what was available, I told her my preference and what I was looking for etc, and then she said she'd be in touch soon. Okay. Cool.

She asked what my career was before and I told her DevOps and she burst out laughing. She was like, AI huh. Yep. So I'm not the first person in there telling her that.

AI is a mimic pretending to be a treasure chest. If its seen a good treasure chest full of good things, it will be a good treasure chest full of good things. If its seen bad treasure chests full of bad things, it will be a bad treasure chest full of bad things.

Unfortunately the mimic really can't tell which is which, and gets very confused and sometimes even mixes up good and bad treasure chests and appears as some ridiculous amalgamation of both.

Hero, kill the mimic before it bites you.

My vocals were cursed. I don't think I ever dated a witch.

One day they're fine, amazing, free. Range? I don't know her.

Then the next day they're trash, barely making a sound, no head voice exists, there's barely bass.

My opera teacher noticed this some years ago, but it was nothing drastic then. She did an assessment one day and the next day she said it's like you're a different vocalist.
