@KeithAmmann This strikes me as a modern shift in language. I always felt like the default was set by the shorter scenarios published in Dragon magazine, which looked like they assumed an adventure took a single evening.Makes sense though. The bigger modules (i.e. those with an entire book to themselves) never did take a single evening.

@KeithAmmann Pretty sure the mass follow-the-leader quality of half the people playing drow drained it of transgressiveness well before that. It was such a cliche even two and a half decades ago that I assumed it'd be inevitable they'd end up in the PHB someday.
