@jim The "special relationship" with America has through successive governments become more and more about selling off as much of UK as possible to American corporations. Same thing in Whitehall, same thing in NHS, same thing in defense, same thing right across policy making, same thing right across the entire British economy which is now owned almost entirely by our American corporate overlords.

Two things:1.@AlSweigart @Ashedryden In #uk, the homeless get free phones from charities Crisis / St Mungos. Migrants seeking asylum get the same but from the Home Office.
In both cases, this isn't so much for their benefit, as much as it is for forced participation in online services and surveillance. The homeless cant leave homelessness without the internet.
Being homeless isn't an excuse not to have a phone and to be forced to participate in the #digitalid hellscape that's being created for everyone.

Really starting to get why dante wrote thousands of lines of poetry describing the eternal torture of various political figures of his time@hannah The irony being the meaning of #dante Divine Comedy is actually about love not hate, or more specifically it's an anti-Virgil anti-Aeneid anti-Roman poetry, says don't hate your enemies, forgive them like Achilles and Priam did in Homer's Iliad (Aeneid is a Roman rewrite of Iliad for spreading hate and violence). Virgil burns in hell because he lies and is incapable of love. Dante wants people to love and forgive each other. That's the point of the books not eternal punishment in hell
