Wandering Adventure Party

I'm just so tired of coming back from a long day of work, after weeks of consistently poor sleep that's taking its toll on me, to play a game that's supposed to help me relax and have fun, only for the other players to tell me I'm not welcome.

Hmm, I wonder why I'm so afraid to reach out to other people and ask for help now, when my presence is always treated with such disdain for no real reason.

I seriously don't even get what I did wrong in that O5N party. I didn't even say much besides a greeting and ggs. The one mistake I made was getting captured by a ghost because my Technical Step was going off cooldown, and both people with the light AOEs ran away from me. But punishing someone helping you over that is ludicrous.

Like, I don't think this is a me problem. Where is the fabled nice and friendly FFXIV community? These experiences are really turning me off from doing any multiplayer content now.

I guess you could say hunt trains are nice and friendly... with the caveat that you get to play during the active hours when the trains are actually conducted. Everyone else is considered a grifter by them trying to "snipe" kills, even though trains are rarely if ever conducted during the times I play. And because I have no reason to join their Discord servers, I also have no access to their schedules that they assumed the entire FFXIV playerbase should know.

So no, I don't consider hunt trains nice and friendly based on their treatment of the out group.

And the party finder prior to that? It was someone trying to clear O5N. After we cleared (with no incident), the leader disbanded the party.

But then moments later, they made a new party finder for O6N.

Okay, a bit odd, but maybe they just didn't want to keep us waiting while they watched cutscenes.

But then, I noticed it was already 7/8 slots filled. And when I checked the details, those 7 already had a single job icon listed.

The leader effectively disbanded the party just to kick me out, then manually invited the other 6 back.

What did I even do to offend them?

Alright, let's check notes.

The DPS:

• Did not stack for Icebrand (a problem with the entire party really, and the reason for my only death)
• Was dead half the time from failing mechanics repeatedly
• Didn't know how to avoid Glass Dance

The healers:

• Didn't stack for Icebrand as mentioned
• Wasn't healing when the boss was spamming autoattacks, causing the other tank to die
• Rescued me into the middle when I placed the boss near the edge, so that Avalanche knockback doesn't send people into the edge of the arena and get frozen (guess who got knocked back and frozen? Yup, both healers)

Sorry, but you three especially played like shit. I wouldn't even have cared about the others playing badly if the DPS just kept their mouth shut.

At this point, I can't tell if I'm really antisocial or if the people I keep running into are some of the worst.

Joined an Akh Afah Amphitheatre EX party finder yesterday, as tank. It was a bit messy, but we cleared on the first pull because the trial is a joke.

At the end, one of the DPS said "carried by me and the healers".
