@ami_angelwings I generally don't put up with bad media, but the Mother in #Othercide. The game isn't *bad*, but it's pretty mid, and the writing should be on a game twice as good. I wanted to hear more about the setting. Tell me more about this immortal woman who's made a pact with the eldritch incarnation of memory, who has been, at different times, a samurai, a paladin, and a wild west gunslinger.

@Ragashingo@starside.social I liked the message of this series a lot. I think it suffered from some pacing and narrative issues (episodes where the focus jumped a lot were not my favorite). I could have also done with our young MC being more of a character. She’s too often a blank slate for our perspective.But the complexity of some of the relations and other things made it really enjoyable, even if the whole journal part isn’t actually important.

@ami_angelwings Two people that hate eachother ending up falling in love.There are some situations or variations where it makes sense, but often it's like "This person is so annoying! Oops, now I'm in love!" Which just doesn't make sense to me. People who are annoying don't become attractive.

@ami_angelwings The Asterisk War and Chivalry of a Failed Knight both premiered their anime series in the same season (fall 2015) and their very similar premises (magical battle school harems with red-haired tsundere lead heroines, among other similarities) apparently led many to compare them.In a similar vein, I find it interesting that Cross Ange and Yona of the Dawn came out at the same time too (fall 2014). Both are two-cour anime series about princesses who basically lose everything at the beginning of the story. These stories diverge quickly though, in both tone and concept.

Sentenced to be a HeroEpisode 1 had decent production and ran for 54 minutes. The title and description had me a bit on the backfoot, but this looks like it could be a good filler for the season. I'm curious to learn how the demon lords, the goddesses, and all that work.#anime

@ami_angelwings@urusai.social I could probably make an argument for Roboute Guilliman and the Primarchs to Warhammer 40K. Mostly because I despise moves that keep trying to shine heroics onto 40K and promote any notion that the imperium can and should be saved.

The Banished Court Magician Aims to Become the Strongest...If you've seen one of this subgenre (What do we even call it?) of a prodigy who is kicked out of his unappreciative party and goes on to spite them then ... you've seen this show. I played it in the background just for noise and I am still disappointed. Zero imagination. It's just the same schlock with no new additions. Original party sucks, guy gets picked up by a girl in a better one, and you know the drill. Pass.#anime
