It was cheap so I bought it on the basis of this thread and it’s a fun little game but the “programming” elements are vastly overstated. Compares with Noita, not with Desynced, or a Zachlike

The great thing about this is that you will likely be able to flash SteamOS on it and use it like a Steam Deck. I’m thinking of getting one for that.

4K is an outrageously high resolution. If I was conspiratorial I would say that 4K was normalized as the next step above 1440p in order to create a demand for many generations of new graphics cards. Because it was introduced long before there was hardware able to use it without serious compromises. (I don’t actually think it’s a conspiracy though.) For comparison, 1440p has 78% more pixels than 1080p. That’s quite a jump in pixel density and required performance. 4K has 125% more pixels than 1440p (300% more than 1080p). The step up is massive, and the additional performance required is as well. Now there is a resolution that we are missing in between them. 3200x1800 is the natural next step above 1440p*. At 56% more pixels it would be a nice improvement, without an outrageous jump in performance. But it doesn’t exist outside of a few laptops for some reason. *All these resolutions are multiples of 640x360. 720p is 2x, 1080p is 3x, 1440p is 4x, and 4K is 6x. 1800p is the missing 5x.

This is dangerous. I don’t have as much time as I would need to enjoy this.

Gee, you would think the PC gamers would be interested at least for situational awareness in the news of a massive data breach that leaked emails accounts with passwords and cookies that could be used to compromise gaming accounts. I guess with the votes, I was mistaken.

The video looks like a lot of cutscenes and finisher movements but very little, if anything, actual gameplay

I love GOG for being a champion of DRM-free games, but this prompt for donations kind of rubs me the wrong way. They’re asking customers to fund their preservation efforts and then pay again for the finished product. This would be better if they followed the crowdfunding model where backers are given rewards. Maybe GOG could announce new (technically old) games they want to preserve, accept crowdfunding and then offer steep discounts (or the actual games) to the backers.

Also 5 DLC at a 20 $ Price point that adds only one extra subclass that isn’t balanced at all, a buggy alpha version on release day and of course the online servers will be shut down after a coupe of years ending everybody’s access anyway.

If you don’t know what Deus Ex Randomizer is, here’s the trailer from v3.0 which gives an overview: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V3mTcG6xeq4&list=PLZIQTa_kwZhBksj7UzcahPiRaHk87fWch&index=1 Download here: https://mods4ever.com/ It’s been about 1 year since v3.0 let you pet the dogs and other animals. Here are some of the biggest things we’ve added since then. Many new game modes: Halloween mode, WaltonWare Halloween, and other varieties - adds zombies, limited saves, and Mr. H who is a big invincible guy that roams the map and tries to smack you. Mr. Page’s Mean Bingo Machine - A new mode where you play through the whole game, but must complete a bingo line before being allowed to progress to the next mission. Once you get to the next mission, you are given a new bingo board! Zero Rando Plus - like “Zero Rando” (no randomization, very vanilla) but Plus more quality of life additions and balance tweaks. Speedrun Training mode - shows where possible goal locations are without spoiling them. We split off the old “Normal Randomizer” mode into “Full Randomizer”, with the new “Normal Randomizer” being a more welcoming game mode to learn the Randomizer. Strong Augs mode - increases the strength of augmentations. One Item Mode - Our new dumbest game mode! All items in a map will be replaced with a single type of item (eg. all flares, all biocells, or all beers) Many new loadouts and augmentations: The default “All Items Allowed” loadout now starts with the new inferior “Running Enhancement” instead of the old “Speed Enhancement”. Choose the “Speed Enhancement” loadout if you want to start with that like before. The Three Leg Augs loadout - Allows Running Enhancement, Jump Enhancement, and Run Silent. You start with one of them. Enables aug slot rando by default. My Vision Is Augmented loadout - Allows Vision Enhancement, Short-Range Vision Enhancement, InfraVision, and Motion Sensor. You start with one of them. Enables aug slot rando by default. Random Starting Aug (instead of Running Enhancement) And more! Lots of balance changes Allowing even more variety of play styles, especially with augmentations. Balance changes are also now toggleable in the options. Disabled by default for Zero Rando, but most are enabled by default for Zero Rando Plus. More goals rando, especially for Gordon Quick, and Area 51. New augmentation slot randomization feature (so speed can be an eye aug) Multiple, rotating quicksave slots New menu to change current in-game settings Many new bingo goals and improvements to our bingo game modes! Deus Ex: Revision support is massively improved as a whole We’re doing a speedrun marathon on Sunday for Deus Ex’s 25th Anniversary! (June 22nd) All of the Deus Ex games are here, including some runs of the Randomizer Stream: https://twitch.tv/sumofbesties Schedule: https://oengus.io/marathon/dx25/schedule/dx25 Our speedrun leaderboard was created about a year ago: https://www.speedrun.com/dxrando (we split the leaderboard for a couple of big updates that changed the run a lot) We did 3 amazing speedrun races: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLZIQTa_kwZhDZjz905W-hpORQ4S1Rj3a6 We have a WaltonWare tournament soon! I agree with you fully, sadly. I still buy a portion of my games on gog, especially during their seasonal sales, but more “just in case Steam dies” and to give financial support to gog so that they can stick around and keep doing what they are doing. Hopefully they (or a third party like Lutris or Heroic) will eventually get playing gog games on par with Steam.

I’d go for Dune 2 over Warcraft, but Warcraft was influential in its own way.

Nothing will turn my pants brown faster than horror + water, and I know I’m not alone on that one. Hopefully the fishing bits will be relaxing to give my heart a break.

Not using Kickstarter is perfectly fine. Definitely avoid Kickstarter if you want a guarantee of delivery.
