“Void” is much too dramatic of a word for science communication… 20% less dense than city population doesn’t even get you to suburban levels of density, let alone anything near “void”.
This is movie plot material, don’t tell me otherwise. I mean if we got Cocaine Bear, why can’t we have a rhino with superpowers after a radioactive injection killing poachers all over the place?

@theogrin We all go through it. As a teenager, I became obsessed with the Western “canon” of literature. I spent so much time and money reading the “classics”. The result was I read a bunch of books I hated because a true man of taste is educated in that god damn high brow compendium of literature. It only occurred to me—much later—that the canon is mostly arbitrary.
Oh man betel nuts. In the north of Vietnam they’re everywhere and folks are tweaking on them. Especially truck drivers and taxi drivers. They spit the red juice out and it’s so strong it stains the street.
Regular pruning is the secret - pinch off the top sets of leaves (especially flower buds) to make it bushier and prevent it from getting woody and bitter, plus it’ll produce wayyy more leaves that way!
@synlogic @breadwizard I have to say, Shadowdark also incorporates a lot of ideas that also appear in DCC, most prominently, magical mishaps, but in a simpler fashion which uses traditional polyhedral dice.
