Gentle reminder that EVERYONE shot by ICE or the police is innocent. Every single one. Cops aren't Judge Dredd. A person is innocent until proven guilty IN A COURT, so until a person is found guilty by a judge or jury, they're innocent. They're ALL innocent.

@theleftistlawyer true. mexican courts did indeed convict them of rape, drug, and firearm offences. gotta love those mexican courts doing their job. BTW, remember when cartels had absolute control and courts were powerless? i certainly remember. i also remember colombia during the 90s. glad we have moved into an era of relative law and order.
also, psychopath squads in sudan, currently machine-gunning civilians, just like cartels used to do in mexico. funny how that's not a priority.

We disagreed so you said I’m defending ICE, you invoked Rittenhouse? I didn’t defend anyone or pass judgements in any way. This is disgraceful.

True, and often forgotten. But a victim needn't be innocent to have the right to be free from being targeted and murdered on American streets by masked gunmen, who have the president and his cabinet behind them.

Yes. This is what the law says.Of course, the law also says no one is above the law.
That all ended on July 1st 2024 when the Supreme Court of the United States granted one man total immunity from prosecution. A man who could then, in turn, pardon anyone he feels like.
The American Constitution cannot exist side by side with one man who stands above it all...

@joe @iwein @theleftistlawyer The Mother Bones post basically says the same thing that I do except for noting that this, very pedantic, hanging on a threshold of legality definition of "innocent" is the very basis of it.
The guy invading your home to kill you is "innocent".
I really don't know why this person replied the way they did. I get the same sense you do from it. They say no. That's fine. I've been misunderstood also.
