Trash breakfast dinner

I’m cleaning out the leftovers one meal at a time. The wife wanted hashbrowns. That’s a perfect vehicle for my second to last smoked sausage, half an onion, some venison chili, half a loaf of homemade bread and the last of our eggs.
It looks like a hot mess because it is. But there are less leftovers clogging up the kitchen.
The eggs thing bothers me though. This is the first time in 7 years that we don’t have any eggs. The hens are old and decided not to lay in the colder season and we haven’t even hit winter yet. Normally we are giving away eggs this time of year. I might have to actually buy eggs soon.
Cost per person? Completely unknown.

That is a “garbage plate“.
When I went to college, there was a local restaurant that made garbage plates, they became pretty famous for it. There’s nothing better to soak up all the booze after a night of clubbing than a garbage plate.

That looks absolutely amazing.
If you want crunchy hashbrowns, add more butter onto the top of them while you cook. The butter melts down through the hashbrowns and improves the way the crunchify. Cook them on a lower heat for a little longer to keep them from burning.

I’m not sure what part of the world you’re from but in the UK, Chinese restaurants and takeaways popularised then concept of the Munchy Box.
Basically, a pizza box rammed with carbs and meats - chips, rice, battered chicken balls, onion rings, satay sticks, salads, all sorts of shit.
It’s like a happy meal for an adult. Being absolutely smashed while troughing it only adds to the experience. Usually good for then following morning too.

I know you guys invented the language, but I don’t understand half the words you just said, lol
But it sounds yummy, so I’ll take your word for it

My apologies

In short, a cardboard box full of food that contains the fat and salt content that exceeds the recommended daily intake for an entire small African country, for about £12 (~US$20?) which is absolutely fantastic for filling you up after having one or two or seventeen too many alcoholic beverages that evening.

Well, as an American, I definitely know what that is, lol
Also, £12 is about $15.71.
It used to be about 2:1 in the exchange rate, but both of our currencies have been slipping lately

Low and slow for hash browns. I really like olive oil poured right into the middle. Spreads out nicely.

Don’t order the Skip’s Scramble

I do this but with hotpot instead. I boil a pot of water, throw in the hotpot soup base and throw all my random produce in there and eat it

Garbage plates sound horrible in theory but they are litterally so good. They hit hard after a night out or if you have the night munchies. I’m not sure if they’re popular elsewhere but they are a staple of upstate New York

I don’t know where you went to college, but these are the staple local dish in Rochester NY.

Good buddy you call that trash?
I’d drop a summer in whatever hippie free love militia compound/commune for that.

As an american, what about what they said wasn’t something you could understand? Like, seriously, the only thing potentially understandable to not know is satay, if you don’t live in a metropolitan area.
