This was the weekend Trump destroyed US exports.

The left side of the EU Parliament was already against adopting the EU-US trade deal but did not have the majority.

Now the deal is dead, as more parties outside the left are furious because of Trump's revenge tariffs towards countries protecting Greenland.

Picture 2-3: President of Renew Europe turns against Trump.

Picture 4: Chairman of the Trade Committee turns against Trump.

@randahl It would be easier to understand their moral superiority were they not all using Grok for translation.

@randahl it is time to spread this idea: can we please give @pluralistic suggestion of repealing anti-circumvention (DMCA equivalents) across Europe and the world a go? No more wall gardens.

@randahl What I would like to know is when are the people in the US going to stand up to Donald Trump? How long will those who are afraid to speak out keep quiet? How much damage does he have to do before reasonable people in the US say, "enough"?

@IndyRichard @randahl Reasonable people in the US are already saying โ€œenough.โ€ The key people that are not are Republican Senators and Representatives. Some of them are not reasonable people and are totally deluded. Theyโ€™ve drunk the Cool-Aid. Many of them are reasonable people but they are afraid to oppose Trump because they and their families will become the targets of violence.

@bodhipaksa @bodhipaksa & this is all too real: opponents have been targeted and killed, &/or threatened. Personally I don't think Tim Walz withdraw from the re-election to better concentrate on his today's tasks/or MTG had an epiphany & became a saint & withdraw. The terror is real, an instrument used casually by this gov. There is no healthy come back, except a total reset. This is what Steve Bannon fears - and this could become real too. I hope it will. @IndyRichard @randahl

                              @PG19582 @randahl That's the thing: It's not "Trump can't be trusted" it's "America can't be trusted".

All it takes is one election and off they go bouncing happily towards this fucking mess again, and that's assuming the replacement even bothers to improve things rather than maintain as the new norm.

This was the weekend Trump destroyed US exports.

The left side of the EU Parliament was already against adopting the EU-US trade deal but did not have the majority.

Now the deal is dead, as more parties outside the left are furious because of Trump's revenge tariffs towards countries protecting Greenland.

@randahl @prefec2 Spahn basically says that Europe is depending on the US and that NATO may not be able to defend Greenland. We shouldn't jeopardize our relationship.
Spahn is becoming more and more radicalized. He's a german MAGA disciple. Hopefully Merz will sack him soon, there are rumors. But when he does, he won't do it out of conviction and more out of necessity. There are more and more critics in the CDU.

@Gilgamesch @randahl @prefec2 The truth is we don't need the US. Nato without the US is stronger than the US alone. We have to trust ourself not the politacal talks.

@randahl What I would like to know is when are the people in the US going to stand up to Donald Trump? How long will those who are afraid to speak out keep quiet? How much damage does he have to do before reasonable people in the US say, "enough"?

@IndyRichard @randahl well, he has reached historic levels of unpopularity. our political system makes it hard to get rid of the ruling party quickly, and the Supreme Court is in thrall to trump we we are kinda fucked form whole. Europe is wise to be considering its defense in a post-US NATO.
