@dawngreeter I'm not objecting to the Netflix tone, but instead the Netflix style worldbuilding (since those shows were kept at arms length from the MCU proper).I see your point about the Russia thing, but that's been building up for years now in the US.

@SyHoekstra I think I found it particularly grating because it feeds into the false narratives that became prevalent, especially on the right, during and after the 2020 George Floyd protests. I think that's really pernicious nowadays, but I shouldn't be surprised since Disney, like many other major corporations, have taken a rightward turn in the last 12-18 months.

I have a similar issue which is in the UK it seems fine to make a program about Northern Ireland being a hell-hole and full of corrupt police in a way that rest of the UK seem to find impalatable. There are lots of cop shows about Belfast, disproportionate to the population. @Tim_Eagon @pteryx

@bradley @LibrarianRA Agreed. It's one of the few 80s sitcom themes that I can immediately hear in my head when mentioned.
