If someone wants to call this a chili that’s fine. I did it myself. But to say you can just use coriander seed as a substitute for cilantro goes well beyond that. Saying coriander is a completely normal thing to put in a chili is not true. To speculate on the origins of chili with no citations supporting your claim is just making stuff up. I don’t have a problem with the general vibe. I have a problem with the specific claims. It’s like claiming that eggs and bread crumbs are perfectly fine in a hamburger mix. That’s a pan fried meatloaf, which sounds pretty tasty right now.

What are perilla leaves? What are braised quail eggs? We’re going to find out today with these two canned foods from Korea, and cook something to go alongside it.

My wife and I have been making our own pizza’s for awhile now. It’s not as hard as people think. Ya make enough dough for 2 pizzas every Sunday and just put 'em in your fridge and have two pizza nights a week!.

Velveeta based Mac and cheese is not. I live in The South. I got a bbq place down the road. I went there shortly after moving here. Their Mac and cheese is a 4 ounce Styrofoam cup of Velveeta Mac. Disappointing on size, style, composition, flavor and every other loss metric. I get cravings for bbq. I have never once gone back in 8 years. It ruined the whole place for me.

That turkey is one that was deceased and has no legs. Sometimes the legs are removed and discarded, sometimes only one leg is infected and therefore the other leg is amputated and sold separately in pairs or in bulk to carnivals or other events where turkeys legs are sold. This basically is a breast only turkey and most likely 55% of the budget. The rest is can and processed garbage usually nobody actually buys, except for the 3-4 dollar bag of potatoes.

I had some left over from pizza making so I tossed them on. I wouldn’t buy olives for this. Even Taco Bell got rid of their olives a long time ago.

Grab a container. Grab a mesh strainer. Grab cheese cloth, in my case an old cut up cotton T shirt. Drape it in the strainer and put the strainer over the pot. Put the yogurt in the cloth. Put it in a fly free spot for 8 to 24 hours to drain. Transfer the cheese to whatever container it will live in. It’s good for about 7 days. A 32 ounce yogurt will get you about 10 ounces of something about the taste and texture of cream cheese. If it’s sour add a little honey, maybe between a tablespoon to a quarter up depending on flavor. To herb it add: 1/4 tsp of salt 2 to 4 tbsp dried herbs 1/4 tsp granulated garlic. The dipping sauce was probably 3 parts sour cream to 2 parts herbed yogurt cheese.

Acorn is the only squash I really like. I only make it this way. We grew it on the farm when I was a kid. I’m expanding my garden, I’d love to grow some, not there yet. I got some mini honey butternut squashes from the store (local farm) theyre little baby butternuts. I’m thinking of saving the seeds for next spring.

A simple egg salad sandwich. Lightly toasted potato bread, hard boiled eggs and either of the second two mayos. That’s it. Rough chop the eggs, fold in just enough mayo to hold them together.
