E.g., one had to add the thought "Higher than <X> means X is no good, I need X+1"."Roll number or higher" is immediately actionable and does not require any inference. As a result, it is also less susceptible to misoperation. Some people will see the '11' and immediately think 'I need to hit 11' if they do not read the whole thing. Meanwhile, someone can see/hear the '12' and accidentally do the right thing.
