@henkmet @mrundkvist Yeah, in the Oldenburg area in northwestern Germany where I live there are actually quite a few villages that were founded in the 19th century, when all those boglands were plowed by giant steam plows.

I mentioned this on my defunct blog many years ago, but early 90s TSR experimented with Ascending AC for d20 in Gamma World. It was released in 1992.
