@Printdevil @Taskerland @RogerBW My challenge turns out to be deciding whether "Ninja Studies" is simply an awful lot of points in an Expert Skill I make up, or creating optional specializations for a large number of scholarly skills (so far I have opted for "both").

@Printdevil @Taskerland @RogerBW An advantage of the latter is you can have an academic with extensive knowledge about Japanese theatrical history, historical anthropology, evolution of stereotypes through Japanophile popular media, cultural soft power, the nuances of Sengoku-era social change and its depiction in literature etc. but the university's marketing really needed a headline so guess who's Professor of Ninjutsu Studies now, and hates it.

Which actually is a very solid character for an RPG as we do all love a wastrel.
