One of the things that's interesting about the broader hobby is the assumptions it makes about what gamers are like.

My counter position is the Film Studies graduate who obsessed about Ninjamania boom, and ended up getting the Social-Anthro position, and now finds themselves having to play the role of seriously political theorist and historian in the plots of the game, despite having fallen asleep during "Ninja III: the Domination"
Which actually is a very solid character for an RPG as we do all love a wastrel.
@Printdevil @shimminbeg @Taskerland But they can all agree that day-glo pyjamas are an Abomination.

"has learnt Japanese from some maniac's translations of popular live-action superhero shows"

@Printdevil I thought about The Journal of Ninja Studies Being nothing but essays about 1980s martial films in which a load of Filipino stuntmen pretend to be Japanese.
"Editor in Chief, the Emeritus Professor of Ninja Studies..." and then it's that photo from the old Real Ultimate Power except it's an old man in a tweed jacket in a dumpster with some nun chucks. @shimminbeg @RogerBW

@Taskerland @Printdevil @shimminbeg Oh, the _Journal_ is terribly serious. After hours at the conference, that's another matter.

"Murder at the Ninja Conference" is lets face it a fabulous convention game.
You would magnetise people from almost every walk of gaming life.

That's the line in the sand about accommodation, there is one. But that is exactly a personality issue. There's no sane rule in a game that adjudicates for "I do not enjoy this person in games" you can agree to "I don't enjoy suicidal references is games" or any other trigger, but you can't write a good "I don't agree to him *points*" rule. That's not prep for a game that's couples counselling. @RogerBW @Taskerland

To be fair, my manuscript has five pages of "Responsibilities of a Player" that boil down to how I define "don't be a dick in RP" writ large... but it's in the introduction, not the rules per se. -
