American food
-
Another American here, sure it looks great, but that wasn’t the point of the comment. It’s that it’s not quite American food. I love malt vinegar as much as the next Anglophile but we don’t really use it here except for fish sometimes, and sure I’d fuck up a hot dog sandwich but I’ve never heard of one outside of a struggle meal.
Poor melted cheese and ranch dressing over it, then we’re closer. Also, this is clearly the kid’s meal.

This isn’t meant to represent any particular American dish. It’s just a vibe of things American. I can’t think of another country that could even offer something like this.
Literally $2.40 of food.
I’m in Lesser Carolina. Just 40 minutes south of Charlotte. Maybe you would prefer Carolina Bird Dogs?

what the umpty fuck is that a deep fried hot dog on a bun

I had to look up “twice fried French fries”. Sounds great but do you have a way to do it without getting oil splatter everywhere? It’s the reason I stopped frying my fries and baking them just isn’t the same
This is why splatter guards exist.

Chicken tenders Left topped with bacon and Dijon mustard. It’s a Carolina specialty known as the Carolina Bird Dog. You won’t find it in the cities, but it’s in the country diners.

My only real question, is how is the cheese with the dogs? I usually go cheddar, I feel processed would be a bit tangy for dogs.
It’s what’s adding flavor. Think of it is adding the tang that mustard to ketchup would offer on a hot dog.

I should get TV trays.
I’ll bring the cigarettes 🥦

You know, I almost bought some of those but decided I didn’t want something with a million tiny holes to clean grease out of. Probably best just to put it in the dishwasher though. I should get them

Use a deep pot. Fill it no more than 1/3 with oil. It makes maintaining 350f harder but it minimizes cleanup and fire risk.
What do you do with the oil afterwards?

I have some. But no smoking indoors.

I keep it in an enamel cast iron Dutch oven. I keep using it and cleaning it until it’s near time for a change. Then I’ll do something that will ruin it like fried chicken. Then it goes in an oil container. When the oil container is full I bring it to our local trash drop off (we don’t have trash service) and leave it on the dumpster where someone who recycles it will pick it up.
