I understand that #ATproto should be for everyone, but decentralization means you don't have to allow everyone on your server. They can run their own and everyone can decide how to deal with that. The company doesn't need to make these decisions. She knows this.
I doubt @Gargron would welcome him on #mastodon infrastructure.

Hello, Patriots! DHS is here to appeal to your patriotic spirit and ask that you lend us a hand in stopping the Democrats’ government shutdown. To all the Americans on Bluesky, your homeland needs all of us to work together.

The insidious thing about #Bluesky is that while people can select a chronological feed of accounts they follow like we have here, the default has now been changed to their opaque algorithmic "Discover" feed.
So most users are fed what the owners of the platform want them to see. Just like Instagram, TicTok and X.
This is how social media shapes opinion. Not with bans and censorship, but with subtle manipulation of what you see.

When you’re a social media company, fascists are good for business, and active moderation is bad for it. So long as people keep seeking their community from profit-seeking entities, they’re going to keep running into the Trumps and Elons of the world.
