Welcome back to Advent’s Amazing Advice! The series where I take popular One-Shots, Adventures, Campaigns, etc., and fully prep them for both New and Busy DMs. This prep includes fully fleshed-out notes, music, ambiance, encounter sheets, handouts, battle maps, tweaks, and more, so you can run the best sessions possible with the least stress possible! *New: For 2025, I’m updating all my old work to be more accessible for the Visually Impaired! Check out the links below, which contain improved notes with larger font, better contrast, color-blind features, and more! Dragons of Stormwreck Isle is a level 1-3 Adventure, the most recent Starter Set, and successor to The Lost Mine of Phandelver, released by WoTC. In it, your players will sail to the titular Stormwreck Isle, an island shaped by an age of conflict between Chromatic and Metallic Dragons. They’ll be able to befriend kobolds, explore fungal grottos, fight those twisted by Orcus, and perhaps save the very island itself! Have your players create their own characters or jump right in using the Pre-Gens that are built with backstories integrated into the plot! If you’ve used my previous notes, you’ll know that I take Adventures such as these and do all the difficult and time-consuming book-to-session conversions so you don’t have to! I do my best to include Ambiance for every scene, custom battle maps, handouts when needed, spell sheets, encounter sheets, and more! This may all sound familiar, but seeing as this is a Starter Set, I think it’s important to reiterate: Read the Adventure: I know surprising, but it can be extremely confusing when you don’t know where everything leads to. Consider the needs of your group: As you’ve heard or are about to hear a million times, every table is different. If you plan on combining this with a campaign, you’ll have to make tweaks here and there. These notes aren’t meant to be the end-all-be-all: Tweak to your heart’s content, and don’t consider any of what’s written to be set in stone. For me, having notes like this helps give me the confidence to go off the rails and follow along with what my players want. It helps me understand where things are meant to go and why. Having that understanding allows me to guide the players and create other new and interesting stories. These are all things that will come with experience, though, so don’t freak out and enjoy the journey! Without further ado: Dragons of Stormwreck Isle: Part 1 - Dragon’s Rest Part 2 - Seagrow Cave Part 3 - Cursed Shipwreck Part 4 - Clifftop Observatory *Important Errata for Pre-Gens The Rogue’s Investigation bonus should be +3, not zero. The Wizard should have a +2 DEX save, not +3. The High Elf should have longbow proficiency Over 7 dozen other Fully Prepped One-Shots, Adventures, and Campaigns: Click Here As always, if you see something you think I can improve, add, change, etc., please let me know. I want this to be an amazing resource for all DMs and plan to keep it constantly updated! If you’d like to support me, shape future releases, and get content early, feel free to check out my Patreon! Cheers, Advent

The whole game dynamic is incredible, and the secret roles being different from the main roles gives some replay potential at least on GM side. As usual, make sure players know what they signed for, if they’re into miniature combat it’s not the game for them. If they look for a emotional role play heavy game about a family dynamic that’s a must play. Note that the first act feels a bit slow, but it really helps building the dynamic to have a strong game during second act and tears during final scene

It’s awesome. I have been using it for good 2 years now. For Pathfinder 2e, Dungeons and Dragons 5e and Das Schwarze Auge. Developing for it though is rough as the documentation and wiki is all over the place targeting various versions.

So in this game characters are ‘actors’? Not necessarily a bad thing, but I’ve learned to associate new terminology for familiar concepts with fantasy heartbreakers. Hope Sol Tyrannus has more legs to it than that.

Hollow World wasn’t strange from either perspective. There have always been fantasies involving the hidden civilizations under the earth. There was also among designers a fetish for the pulpy adventure stories. See also, Doc Savage, the Nile Empire for TORG, Justice Inc and Lands of Mystery, various Buck Roger’s iterations, Thrilling Places, Hollow Earth Expeditions, Spirit of the Century, as well as a few dozen others. Hell, even Traveller is based on the pulpy SF like Dumarest and Lensman.

I dunno if you’re still lookin’, but there are a few options. I’m not sure why you bounced off of Obsidian (it’s what I use), but I’m gonna assume you need a more visual system. Obsidian’s Canvas provides that, but if you’re not using the other features, it’s a bit like swatting flies with a Buick. The simplest option might be Gnome Notes. It’s very barebones, and probably not as freeform as you’d like, but if all you need is a simple note taking app where you can sorta Post-It stuff, it might be enough. There aren’t a lot of options that work like One Note. Other folks have said Joplin, and that might be the closest. You could also look into: Logseq, which has a Canvas mode like Obsidian’s but doesn’t work quite the same way and might be a better fit for you (also it’s open source, which is a huge plus) Tomboy NG which offers automatic linking between notes and some other features that you might like, but is kinda old-fashioned, and doesn’t have that “post-it” feel Tagspaces which is pretty and very visually oriented, although it’s tag driven, so that might not be your thing. Still, it’s worth a look. Notable which is tree structured, but also offers a visual note overview. It’s not super powerful, but it is easy to use. That said, IIRC it is still possible to disable all AI stuff in the Notions settings. It’s something like Settings>NotionAI and then set all options to “off”. I dunno if that’ll stop Notion from suggesting you turn it back on, though. Anyway, hope this helps.

Read through a little bit and did the sample solo adventure. Seems like a decent system, but I definitely want to see the teamwork come into play. Maybe I will look for an actual play.

It’s been a while since I installed is, bit I think the only thing I had to do was make a shell script executable, which I think it says to do in the readme? Could be misremembering though.

In that case… Dear everybody this reaches: Pathfinder 2 was designed to take the best of D&D 3.5 and the genuinely good parts of 4e. Also D&D has such a thing as *editions*.

I can see the utility of this as a between sessions tool. My two crnts is that I will never give you my email without seeing what the UI actually looks like, you should have screenshots on your site to show off the design and features.
