@golgaloth That's how I first heard about the strike; a friend of mine is launching a KS next week and was soliciting opinions about what to do.

Hi! My Masto feed has been kind of slow and sometimes depressing lately. Looking for a few active users/potential friendos who like to chat a bit and enjoy any of: #BoardGames #Art #TTRPG #BikeTooter #Writing #Gaming #FountainPen #Books #Cooking #ADHD I’ve been posting lately about my solo RPG project, The Spirit of Small Gifts. I also sometimes post about shibari and clothed shibari figure drawing but I always CW and tag those posts.

Picked up Black Orchestra after a rosy review from @theplayersaidgrant and watching a how-to video, and boy this is something special. A co-op Hitler killer, which I hope everyone on my feed can agree would be a good thing. And if not, show your Nazi-loving ass out. And jump off a tall building. There are certainly comparisons to be made to Pandemic. A player does their actions, there's a draw from the "bad things happen" deck, play proceeds. But there are really interesting diversions. First, the vibe is completely different. The "bad things happen" deck isn't necessarily that bad. Players only have 3 actions per turn, which means turns are snappier. There's a Conspire action which could potentially explode the number of actions a player can take at the risk of hurting the team as a whole. And the lack of those pesky Pandemic-style cubes means there's less risk of quarterbacking. Also unlike Pandemic, players have no idea at the start of the game what they'll need to do to win. They have to uncover a plot card from a thick Conspirator deck, then wait for the right time to enact their plot. And then there's the educational factor. Your characters are actual historical people who conspired against Hitler.Haven't finished a solo playthrough yet, but really enjoying this.#boardgames

Ages ago, I Kickstarted the deluxe edition of this game for my partner, and it finally arrived yesterday! I had the chance to play it with her and her husband tonight. It was a VERY close game, as you can see on the final score sheet. The game was very cute, and I can imagine people from Mastodon relating to it. The basic cycle is puttering around your house littering your apartment with stacks of books and recharging your social battery until you have the spoons to leave the house, at which time you go into town and visit the used book store, the library, the book exchange, and the shops to pick up more books and neat things. When your social battery is depleted, you head home, unload your backpack, and putter around again. You win by arranging your book stacks to complete certain goals, collecting lots of books, and collecting neat trinkets and stuff at the shops. It's got a very cozy vibe, and the production value is quite high. Although we had the deluxe edition, I get the feeling that the same will be true for the retail edition as well. It moves pretty fast, but optimizing things takes a fair bit of planning and thought. Overall, I quite liked it and am looking forward to trying it again sometime.#boardgames #books #cozy #introverts

If a boardgame or role-playing game is so complicated that I wish there was software to help me get everything right, then it should just be a video game instead.#boardgames #ttrpg
