Indeed. “If you build it, they will come” still demands that you build it, first. And it’s not the technology that needs to be built. It’s not the technology that got people onto Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram in the first place.
I want to recommend this web series by the extremely talented Gen Z, Vietnamese-American filmmaker Milky Tran (her personal page is also worth checking out). They’re very funny and often touching looks at life (especially dating and family) framed around weekly sessions at her therapist. It comes out 3 times a month and is well worth watching. Unfortunately, I think she only releases them on IG.https://www.instagram.com/nextsession.show#MilkyTran #WebSeries #InstaGram #Comedy #Filmmaking #GenZ #Humor
It would be lovely if this information led to restrictions on unhealthy platform design patterns, but I imagine (if anything) it'll lead to restricting what young people get to access instead, which is deeply depressing. Australia already did it, after all.https://techcrunch.com/2026/02/17/metas-own-research-found-parental-supervision-doesnt-really-help-curb-teens-compulsive-social-media-use/ #Facebook #Instagram #Meta #AdamMosseri #MarkZuckerberg #SocialMedia
@MarcusAnthonyCyganiak News to me - my own Mastodon feed is _very_ full. And I cannot complain about my interactions, either - I certainly have more now than I ever had on Twitter!
