@teajaygrey @sundogplanets the cost of the fibre link is not mainly about the physical cable. The thing that takes time and money is getting permits for digging up roads, access through private fields, planning permission for connection points, and so on. And each new route of cable has to have this sorted from scratch, and some public authorities are slow, obstructive or just downright awkward.

@dallo missing the UK police in the classroom as well. We know that they have all been training together...

@jwildeboer Yes; it proves that other companies can do the same. We need to legislate to make sure they do. The documentation could be uploaded at time of production to a locked database, that unlocks automatically if the producer goes into liquidation or is bought out. Too many good products are deliberately sabotaged by the manufacturer at the end-of-life to get people to buy new replacements. I'm not under the impression that Bose have done this for any reason other than good PR, though.

@stux this is what many indigenous peoples always found difficult to believe, that, just by claiming a place where you happen to be, you reduce the rights of anyone who steps there in future.

@stux These 'well you must have something to hide' people presumably don't close the cubicle door in toilets, or close their curtains, and have transparent walls on their houses, no doors or locks...

@stux Easy - the one on the right is slightly better suited to put rubbish in, whereas the one on the left has been driven by rubbish...
