The main character of this manga, Mira, has a disease that causes her to “call the night” whenever she gets stressed/anxious. It manifests as darkness boiling out of her. I don’t think it’s a spoiler to say that by the end of the last volume, there is some resolution. I still dislike it though.

@edzilla @AlisonW I was part of the team that implemented the e-ID in Flanders.The difference is that Schengen ID cards are just that. The provide an ID in the same way a passport does, and, because they are also a smartcard, they can be used not only for identification but also authentication.Key is that it sits securely in your own pocket.The proposed system is a central database with a viewer in the form of a mobile app. The opposite of "in your pocket", it's more like the eVISA system.

@audreygwinter@dice.camp Part of the problem with dual booting on the same disk is that Windows is not a good neighbor. You generally want to resize the disk from within windows. Sometimes windows updates would flat remove bootloaders. UEFI and secure boot just inherently make things harder and since Microsoft is a big partner in that, they had no desire to make things easier. I gave up on that and just totally isolated windows and Linux to their own drives, with their own bootloaders. It’s a PITA but at least windows stopped nuking my Linux install every few months. I agree the situation sucks. In a lot of cases I am not sure it can be made “better” without OEMs and other vendors working together.

@Andii@mas.to The only reason CPL was formed was because, for Canada to host the World Cup, FIFA demanded that a national division 1 league had to exist. Canada has only made it to the World Cup twice. And we’re automatically getting there next year simply because we’re a host nation. Soccer is becoming bigger here, though. At least here in Vancouver, it’s the third most popular pro sport. More popular than lacrosse and basketball.
