What the actual fuck? ICE has been holding three members of the Oglala Sioux tribe in detention since Friday. Tribal members are US citizens by statute.

Homeland Security is refusing to release any information on these tribal members, other than first names, until the tribe enters into an "immigration agreement" with ICE. Again, WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK?

@VisualStuart @EllisArcwolf the "immigration agreement" needs to be "ICE members will be sent to Siberia."

You don't seriously expect ICE goons understanding the actual details of the status of the first nations? Their own education in these topics was likely restricted to movies in the Western genre. They are probably thinking they're "saving America from the Indians".

@VisualStuart “Homeland Security refused to release more information, unless the tribe “entered into an immigration agreement with ICE.””

        The heck kind of agreement?

ICE are openly admitting it isn't about "immigration", it's all about white supremacy.

White Supremacy Enforcement would be a more accurate name.

Where the F are they going to "deport" Native Americans to?

@elsa @nielso @VisualStuart Cambodians should stand up and defend Americans as a thank you for the megatons of illegal bombs thrown on top of their heads in the illegal, secret, congress-unapproved war against a country there was no declaration of war against, called Operation Menu.

Defend those who deliberately, willingly, knowingly and intentionally voted for a known authoritarian.

@angeldruckt Tribal members are Native Americans, however the term tribal members in this case also indicates that they are registered members of a federally recognized tribe.

By contrast, the Chinook of the Pacific Northwest are not a federally recognized tribe which denies Chinook members access to federal healthcare, housing, and education benefits.

@huntingdon @VisualStuart ICE has any power they take for themselves until someone actually stops them. And juridical methods don’t count at ”stopping” unless there is actual enforcement.

I presume habeas corpus petitions will be filed shortly, to find out where and on what basis ICE is detaining three US citizen Oglala Sioux.

ICE's has very limited police powers. They are restricted to immigration enforcement. They have no authority to make random stops, to detain generally, or to enter into any private space without a warrant signed by an Art. III judge.

This may sound nice on paper, though in reality ICE has shot over a dozen people and killed at least 9 in the last physical year. All of them are citizens by the way. There has been no repercussions on the ICE officers involved in the use of force incidents.

@VisualStuart Was there some part of "sovereign nation" they failed to understand?

@ahltorp @huntingdon @VisualStuart Can a citizen use a legally owned stopping power in castle doctrine or stand my ground doctrine against an ICE agent which illegally enters private space without a warrant signed by an Art. III judge?

@clock @ahltorp @huntingdon @VisualStuart Probably depends on which judge you end up standing in front of, assuming you survive the interaction.

@clock @ahltorp @huntingdon @VisualStuart A citizen "can" do anything they want with that legally owned stopping power. ICE "can" do anything they want with theirs, and now they have justification beyond "she was in a car near me."
